The paper of the stamp is the material on which it is printed.
Although this is almost always paper, a handful of stamps have been
made out of wood, lace, fabric, etc. (We still call these "paper"
though._)
The usual stamp paper is wove white, and not of any significance. But for some types of stamps the paper is of significance. When defined, the paper property has several different values:
